Victor Osimhen absent again from Napoli pre-season amid transfer rumours

Napoli’s prolific Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has not yet appeared in the club’s pre-season matches, fueling speculation about his potential transfer.

The 25-year-old missed Napoli’s 3-0 win against Mantova and their 4-0 victory over Anaune Val Di Non under new manager Antonio Conte.

Osimhen’s absence has intensified rumors of his departure, with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) emerging as a leading contender for his signature.

The striker has expressed his desire to leave Napoli after a stellar four-year spell, and PSG is reportedly ready to meet Napoli’s €120 million asking price.

However, Osimhen has also shown interest in moving to the Premier League, adding complexity to the transfer saga.

Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new manager, seems to be planning for life without Osimhen. Despite Osimhen not having any injuries, Conte’s decision to exclude him from the squad suggests a deal may be close.

Conte expressed confidence in Osimhen’s proposed move to PSG, indicating that Napoli is prepared for his exit and may already have plans to reinvest the substantial transfer fee.

The club’s smooth preseason preparations without their star striker hint at a well-orchestrated transfer plan. If PSG secures Osimhen, he could potentially replace Kylian Mbappe.

Napoli fans are closely watching as their club navigates this transitional period, hoping for continued success on the pitch, with or without their Nigerian goal-scoring machine.
