Victor Osimhen closes in on Napoli move?
Victor Osimhen is reportedly a few steps from completing a move from French Ligue 1 side, Lille to Italian Serie A side, Napoli.
The 21-year-old striker who ended the 2019-20 season as Lille player of the season and also made the Ligue 1 player of the season could be heading to Italy.
While Lille owner, Gérard Lopez, confirmed there are many offers from the Nigerian few days back he also said the player would not go cheap.
In fact, Gérard Lopez, was quoted to have put a £72m price tag on the former Wolfsburg striker.
‘There are multiple offers,’ he said. ‘We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.
‘There is a wide array [this summer] and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers]. There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.’
‘I am not being a sales guy because last year people didn’t believe that we had the offers we had with [Nicolas] Pepe and it turns out we had multiple of them,’ he said.
‘Let me tell you with Osimhen, it is the same thing, whatever number you heard, the high number I have read is very much on the money of the offers that we have received. That’s where we are.’
But popular Italian football expert, Nico Schira has confirmed that Lille have dropped their asking price from €80m to just €60m.
He also said Victor Osimhen is willing to sign a five-year contract with a wages of €4m a year.
Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport says Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is prepared to offer €55m to bring Osimhen to Naples but it is hinged on Napoli selling off Arek Milik.
