Victor Osimhen Ends Goal Drought as Galatasaray Beat Karagümruk 3–1

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen marked his return from AFCON 2025 in style, scoring for Galatasaray in a 3–1 win over Fatih Karagümruk at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı on Saturday night.
The Super Eagles forward had struggled to find the net since returning from Morocco, where he narrowly missed out on the AFCON Golden Boot. That frustration ended in the 55th minute when İlkay Gündoğan delivered a precise pass, allowing Osimhen to power past his marker and fire a trademark shot into the net.
Galatasaray had already taken an early lead through Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara, who scored after just 31 seconds – the fastest goal of the 2025/26 season. Sara then doubled the lead early in the second half with a brilliant finish from Roland Sallai’s cross.
Karagümruk pulled one back late in the game, but Osimhen’s strike had already secured Galatasaray’s control of the match.
With the win, Galatasaray maintain their lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, keeping Fenerbahce at a distance. Osimhen now has seven league goals this season and looks ready for the upcoming Champions League fixtures.
