Victor Osimhen injured – Galatasaray confirm after tests
Galatasaray have released an update on the injury suffered by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during their 3-2 win over Sivasspor in a Süper Lig match on Sunday.
Osimhen, who scored in the game, was injured in the second half and was substituted in the 76th minute for Victor Nelsson. After undergoing medical tests, it was confirmed that the 25-year-old has a moderate strain and bleeding in his right upper back muscle.
While Osimhen has started treatment, the club did not specify how long he will be out. His injury comes as a significant blow for Galatasaray, who are already without star striker Mauro Icardi.
With both key forwards unavailable, coach Okan Buruk will now look to Michy Batshuayi to lead the attack. The team will be hoping to maintain their push for a third consecutive Süper Lig title and make a strong run in the UEFA Europa League.
Following their victory over Sivasspor, Galatasaray are six points ahead of second-placed Fenerbahçe in the league standings and are in a good position to qualify for the Europa League’s round of 16.
