According to multiple reports in Italy, Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen will soon be working under a new coach at as struggling Napoli consider parting ways with manager Walter Mazzarri.

The club is facing a tumultuous season marked by inconsistent performances, and so is contemplating another managerial change.

Despite Mazzarri’s efforts, the team’s fortunes have failed to improve significantly, prompting the club to consider alternatives.

With an impending clash against Barcelona on the horizon, Napoli finds itself in a race against time to finalize its decision.

Marco Conterio’s latest report quoted by ONE FOOTBALL, suggests that Mazzarri’s departure is imminent and could be officially announced today.

However, the tight timeline leaves little room for securing a replacement ahead of the Champions League round of 16 fixture.

At the moment, Francesco Calzona has emerged as Napoli’s preferred interim manager, poised to assume control for a four-month stint.

Notably, Calzona boasts prior experience working alongside Napoli’s former managers Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri.

He has already secured permission from the Slovakia Football Association to juggle managerial duties for both Napoli and the Slovakia national team.

The agreement between Napoli and Calzona is reportedly in place, with former Napoli star Marek Hamsik also poised to join Calzona’s coaching staff. As the club braces for potential changes, developments are expected to unfold rapidly in the coming hours.

In a related development, Mazzarri or whoever is Napoli manager when they face FC Barcelona will have a half-fit Victor Osimhen in the squad.

According to SPORTS, the Super Eagles of Nigeria striker can only feature for “50-60 minutes” against the Catalan club as he recovers from the energy-sapping 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
