Victor Osimhen scores for the eight time in Galatasaray colours
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen stepped up in the absence of injured forward Mauro Icardi, scoring twice to lead Galatasaray to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig on November 10.
Osimhen notched his seventh and eighth goals of the season, marking a strong performance that helped the team achieve its 10th win in just 11 matches.
The game, held at the Rams Global Stadyumu, showcased Galatasaray’s attacking prowess despite missing their star player. Osimhen opened the scoring in the third minute, putting Galatasaray ahead early.
After an equalizer from Olivier Ntcham via a penalty in the 50th minute, Osimhen responded with his second goal just five minutes later, restoring Galatasaray’s lead at 2-1. Substitute Michy Batshuayi added what would become the decisive goal in the 55th minute, making it 3-1 for Galatasaray.
However, the match was not without tension, as a late goal from Youssef Ait Bennasser in the 90th minute brought Samsunspor back to within one goal, but Galatasaray held firm to secure the win. Osimhen dedicated one of his goals to the injured Icardi, further highlighting his role as a key player for the team.
With this performance, he has firmly taken up the scoring mantle for Galatasaray as they continue their strong campaign in the league.
