Victor Osimhen Shines in 2025 Opener as Galatasaray Defeats Goztepe 2-1

Victor Osimhen started 2025 with a great performance as Galatasaray won 2-1 against Goztepe. The match took place at Rams Park in Istanbul.

Osimhen had a fantastic end to 2024, scoring two goals in a 5-1 victory over Kayserispor. After a one-week break, he was ready for Galatasaray’s first game of the year against Goztepe.

Galatasaray started strong and took the lead early with a penalty. Kaan Ayhan was fouled in the box, and Osimhen calmly scored the penalty to make it 1-0 in the 10th minute.

However, Goztepe quickly equalized in the 27th minute with a goal from Romulo, making the score 1-1. The first half ended with no more goals.

In the second half, Galatasaray kept attacking, and Yunus Akgun scored the winning goal in the 61st minute, giving them a 2-1 lead. Osimhen played for 87 minutes before being substituted. He had one shot and 16 touches during the game.

Goztepe fought hard in the final minutes, but Galatasaray held on to win 2-1.
