Chimezie Metu hits a last seconds corner three to hand the Sacramento Kings a 95-94 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night at Kings Court Kennel.
The Nigeria men’s basketball player received all the plaudits after hitting the last shot of the game which happened to be the decider.
With the clock winding down and Kings trailing with two points, Chimezie Metu knocked down a corner three after receiving a pass from De’Aaron Fox.

Chimezie Metu who started the game from the bench had 8 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 11 points from 4-of-8 field goals and 3-of-5 from trey including the buzzer winner in 20min.
Metu who was drafted by the great Gregg Popovich Spurs pick 49 in 2018 said the night was on of his best nights since he turned pro.
“That was probably the best part, all the guys in your ear and everything. Block all that out and let muscle memory take over,” said Metu, who went to the Kings’ practice court after the game to get in extra work.
“It was a great moment. Since I’ve been in the league, for sure one of the best moments I’ve had. For us to grind that one out, it felt good.”
