VIDEO: Osimhen nets 19th Serie A goal to equal Muzzi’s 28-year record
... scores in 8th consecutive Serie A games
Victor Osimhen has matched Roberto Muzzi’s 28-year Serie A record after scoring yet again for Napoli against Empoli as the Partenopeis take a 2-0 lead at Stadio Carlo Castellani on Saturday.
It was just another good day in the office for the Nigerian forward who scored his 19th league goal against his boss’s former club.
Ardian Ismajli scored his own goal to hand the league leaders the lead and 12 minutes after his goal, Victor steered home his 19th league goal of the season.
The goal was largely due to Victor Osimhen’s instinct, and great movement, following a shot from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia that was parried his way by Empoli’s goalie Guglielmo Vicario.
Victor Osimhen who has now scored in 8th consecutive Italian Serie A games becomes the second youngest player in the league’s history to achieve such a feat.
8 – Victor Osimhen became the second youngest player (24 years, 58 days) in the three points for a win era to find the net in eight Serie A games in a row, behind only Roberto Muzzi (23 years, 165 for Cagliari in 1995). Unstoppable.#EmpoliNapoli pic.twitter.com/5Ychf1Av4f
