Vinicius Jr Faces Potential Two-Year Ban

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr could reportedly face a two-year ban from football, according to FIFA. The governing body is investigating whether the Brazilian has violated its rules by creating a conflict of interest.

Vinicius, one of the top players in the world, has made a significant impact at Real Madrid, scoring 105 goals and providing 79 assists in 311 appearances across all competitions.

However, his on-pitch behaviour has often been controversial, and now FIFA is looking into his actions off the pitch.

According to MARCA, Vinicius could be banned for two years because he owns stakes in several professional football clubs, which goes against FIFA’s regulations.

The issue arises from his links to his father’s company, ALL Agenciamento Esportivo. A Brazilian firm, Tiberis Holding do Brasil, officially filed a complaint with FIFA’s Ethics Committee on April 7, claiming Vinicius violated ethics rules that prevent players from having direct or indirect ownership of professional clubs.

Vinicius is said to have ownership stakes in the Brazilian club Athletic Club de São João del Rei and the Portuguese club Alverca.

The complaint cites FIFA’s Article 20 and Spain’s Article 22 on football ethics. If Vinicius is found guilty, he could face a suspension of up to two years and may be required to sell his shares in these clubs.
