Waldrum invites Oshoala, 22 Super Falcons for Revelation Cup
Home-based players noticeably missing from Falcons squad
Super Falcons manager Randy Waldrum has released a list of 23 players to defend the colours of the country at next month’s Revelation Cup in Mexico. The invitational tournament is being held to prepare teams for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand/Australia.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will take on Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica in the tournament between February 15th and 21st. Waldrum extended an invitation to red-hot FC Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala and veteran captain Onome Ebi, with Atletico Madrid ace Rasheedat Ajibade, Leicester City star Ashleigh Plumptre and former Falconets duo of Rofiat Imuran and Tosin Demehin also invited. Notably, no home-based players were included in the squad for the tournament despite the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) season being well underway.
