Warriors Struggle Without Curry, but Star Guard Nears Return

The Golden State Warriors have been in strong form since signing Jimmy Butler, but their momentum was halted when Stephen Curry suffered an injury last Thursday against the Toronto Raptors.

Curry hurt his tailbone after a hard fall while attempting a layup. Since his absence, the Warriors have struggled, losing back-to-back games against the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat. These defeats have dropped them to seventh place in the Western Conference standings, with the Los Angeles Clippers overtaking them due to a tiebreaker advantage.

Curry’s absence has been deeply felt, with the Warriors’ offence ranking last in the NBA without him, compared to being the sixth-best when he plays. However, there is hope for a quick return.

According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Curry is making good progress in his recovery.

“Steph Curry went through a six-minute team scrimmage today in New Orleans. He is about to do an individual workout. Warriors will list him as questionable tomorrow at Pelicans, but Steve Kerr said he remains optimistic Curry will return,” Slater reported.

Despite Butler’s impact, the Warriors have struggled for scoring options without their two-time MVP. With only 10 games left in the regular season, they need Curry back as soon as possible to avoid the Play-In Tournament and secure a strong position for the playoffs.
