Warriors triumph in Oriental derby as Lobi Stars fall short against Heartland
Imama Amapakabo’s Abia Warriors welcomed high flying Rangers International FC to the Okigwe Township Stadium following a defeat in their last game against Dakkada FC and emerged 1-0 victors in the game. The Umuahia Landlords took the lead through the returning Paul Samson who scored a wonderful curled effort from outside the box in the 25th minute of the encounter. Warriors had to see out the last 32 minutes with 10 men after Daniel Wotlai was sent off for two bookable offences. Abia Warriors now rise two places to 17th on the log, while Rangers stay in 5th.

Heartland picked up a second successive win when they hosted Lobi Stars at the Okigwe Township Stadium. The Naze Millionaires took the lead in the 38th minute from a Chidera Ezeh freekick, before Samuel Nnoshiri scored just before the hour mark to seal the points for his side. Heartland are now out of the relegation zone despite their poor start to the season.
