WATCH: Aryna Sabalenka wins point against Ashleigh Barty using racquet throat
There are many ways to win a tennis point, but Aryna Sabalenka came up with one of the more unusual methods during her first-round clash with Ashleigh Barty at the Australian Open.
Tasked with putting away a seemingly straightforward overhead on Rod Laver Arena, Sabalenka got her timing horribly wrong, with the ball missing the racquet head completely.
However, the Belarusian still somehow achieved her goal, as the ball deflected off the throat of her racquet and just about cleared the net.
This is not a shot you’re likely to see again in the near future.
