Watch as Pulisic Hits the Trump Dance After Goal in USA’s 4-2 Win Against Jamaica
Explains why he celebrated with the dance linked to incoming American president, Donald Trump
Christian Pulisic sent the internet buzzing after celebrating his goal with the “Trump Dance” during the United States Men’s National Team’s (USMNT) 4-2 victory over Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League Quarter-finals on Monday.
The AC Milan star opened the scoring for the USA, leading them to a 5-2 aggregate win and securing a spot in the semi-finals. The dance, inspired by President-elect Donald J. Trump, quickly stole the headlines.
Timothy Weah, Ricardo Pepi, and an own goal from Jamaica’s Di’Shon Bernard rounded off the scoring for the USA, while Demarai Gray netted twice for Jamaica.
The match, held at the Mario Alberto Escobar Toca Stadium in Guatemala, showcased a stellar performance from the USMNT. Yet, it was Pulisic—dubbed “Captain America”—and his post-goal celebration that took center stage.
When asked about his celebration in a post-match interview, Pulisic said:
“Why the Trump Dance? I just thought it was funny!”
The 25-year-old continues his outstanding form this season, with 12 goal contributions in 15 matches for AC Milan.
