Western Conference Final: Nuggets defeat Lakers, need one win to complete series sweep
Denver Nuggets took a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Lakers after securing a win at the Crypto.com Arena, leaving them one win from the NBA Finals.
Having won Game 1 and Game 2 in Denver, the Nuggets were out to overcome the Lakers and avenge their 2020 Western Conference Final defeat.
Both teams were largely evenly matched in the opening three quarters of the match, before the Nuggets managed to blow their opponents away in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with a 119-108 win.
Jamal Murray led the scoring for the Nuggets with 37 points and Nikola Jokic scored 24 points as his historic triple-double run came to an end. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also had 17 points in the game for the Nuggets.
Anthony Davis led the scoring for the Lakers with 28 points and 18 rebounds, and LeBron James scored 23 points and 12 assists. The Lakers must now win Game 4 on Tuesday or risk being swept by the Nuggets.
