What did Ruben Amorim say after Wolves beat Manchester United?

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has emphasised the need for resilience following his team’s 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday. The defeat at Molineux marked United’s fourth loss in their last five Premier League games, extending a poor run of form.

Speaking after the match, Amorim said, “It’s always the same. We have to stay the same professionals, the same guys, whether we are winning or losing. When we lose, I have to be stronger. I will stick to my ideas until the end.”

United’s troubles deepened early in the second half when captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a second yellow card just minutes after the restart. Despite being reduced to ten men, Amorim highlighted some positives.

“I think the good thing is we were near the goal, even with ten men. That’s encouraging, but in the end, we lost,” he noted.

Amorim also commented on the defensive error that led to Wolves’ first goal, where Matheus Cunha’s corner deceived goalkeeper Andre Onana. “I don’t think Onana could reach the ball. He was trying, but some players weren’t even looking at the ball. Still, I don’t want to dwell on that.”

As United prepare to host Newcastle on Monday, Amorim’s focus remains on staying strong and maintaining his principles in the face of adversity.
