Why Brighton boss will be supporting Nigeria against Seychelles and Egypt

Brighton and Hove coach Chris Hughton will be monitoring the games between Nigeria and Seychelles this Friday and Egypt next Tuesday.

The English manager will be watching the development of his player, Leon Balogun who just recovered from a shoulder injury.

Leon Balogun has not played for the Seagulls since he played for 120 minites in Brighton 3-1 win at West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup back in February 6th.

Despite just recovering from injury Leon Balogun is in line to add to his international caps when Nigeria tackle Seychelles in a dead rubber AFCON qualifier and an international friendly, hence the reason Chris Hughton will be rooting for Nigeria.

“The good thing, particularly with the cup run, is the players that haven’t featured so much have at least had games,” Hughton said to Brighton’s official website.

“Leon Balogun, for example, is going away on international duty with Nigeria and we’re hoping he plays both matches.”

Leon Balogun will be needed fully fit as Brighton have tough games lined up for them in the early week of April. Brighton will play against Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal and still have a league clash against Chelsea.
