Why Enyimba Failed to Beat Heartland FC in Aba? Stanley Eguma Explains
Enyimba International’s technical adviser, Stanley Eguma, has attributed the club’s failure to secure victory against Heartland FC in Aba to fatigue, citing a congested fixture schedule as a major factor in their inconsistent performances this season.
The People’s Elephant have struggled to find rhythm, with Eguma pointing out that the demanding match schedule has taken a toll on his squad.
“As I’ve mentioned before, we’re dealing with fatigue in the team due to the tight schedule this month,” Eguma said. “Since January, we’ve been playing two matches every week. We just returned from Ilorin two days ago, played today (January 30, 2025), and tomorrow we travel to Bauchi to face Lobi Stars.”
He emphasized that the relentless travel schedule has affected the players’ physical condition, making it difficult for them to perform at their best.
“The players have been on the road constantly, and the wear and tear are evident. We’ll continue working hard to overcome the stress and fatigue affecting the team,” he added.
With more games on the horizon, Enyimba will need to find a way to manage their squad effectively if they are to regain their form and compete at the highest level.
