Why Galatasaray failed to beat Hatayspor – Victor Osimhen speaks after Turkish Lig draw
Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has shared his thoughts on Galatasaray’s performance after their 1-1 draw with Atakaş Hatayspor.
The result saw Galatasaray drop two important points in their bid for the Turkish League title. The team is still in the lead but failed to win against a team threatened by relegation.
Osimhen, who plays for the Super Eagles, led the attack and scored his 14th goal of the season from a penalty. However, his goal was not enough to secure all three points.
After the game, Osimhen spoke about the team’s performance, saying he believed in his teammates’ ability. According to Galatasaray’s official website, Osimhen said: “The first half lacked intensity. We allowed the opponent to have some play, but after the coach’s talk, we started the second half much better.
“We raised the intensity and focused more on our game. These kinds of matches are difficult. We need to keep our focus and take every opportunity. We missed many chances, but we will learn from our mistakes and improve.”
Despite the draw, Galatasaray remains top of the league, nine points ahead of second-place Fenerbahçe.
