Why Liverpool’s £45m buy is called ‘Agent 007’
Liverpool have now spent £130m and yet to fill Saido Mane's void
Liverpool are currently at their low, and their £45m winter buy Cody Gakpo has been turned on by fans, and rival fans who have labeled him agent 007.
When you hear ‘007’, or ‘agent 007′ the protagonist of the Fictional MI6 franchise series, James Bond, comes to your mind instantly.
Well, it may now have another meaning after Cody Gakpo’s performances in his first games at Liverpool, as the Reds’ poor form continues.
The 2022 FA, and League Cup champions have been dumped out of both cup games, languishing in the 10th position in the league, and also have a tough round-of-16 clash against Real Madrid.
They were totally outplayed in a Premier League game by Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday, and Jurgen Klopp just couldn’t explain what happened.
Cody Gakpo was signed for £45m to fill the space left by Saido Mane after £85m summer signing Darwin Nunez failed to lift Liverpool.
But it is looking like Liverpool could have spent £130m and still not been able to fill the space left by Saido Mane.
Hence, the reason, why fans are beginning to question the acquisition of the Dutch player from PSV Eindhoven.
Cody Gakpo has now played in six games for Liverpool without a goal, or an assist – (0 goals), (0 assists), (6 games) – guess it should have been 006 after all?
