Super Eagles Wilfred Ndidi is the most valuable midfielder in Africa according to CIES Football Observatory.

The Leicester City player is more valuable than Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Paris Saint-Germain’s Idrissa Gana Gueye who have often been compared with the Nigerian.

Wilfred Ndidi and Thomas Partey are just the only African midfielders included in the list of 100 most valuable players complied by the CIES Football Observatory.

Wilfred Ndidi valued at €49m occupied the 95th position while Thomas Partey valued at €48.5 occupied the 100th position. There was no room for Idrissa Gana on the top 100 most valuable list.

Wilfred Ndidi, Thomas Partey and Idrissa Gana Gueye have always been thrown into the conversation when the question ‘who is the best defensive midfielder in Africa’ is being asked.

But if price tags or player values could be used to rate who the best player is, then we may have our answer as Wilfred Ndidi who is the most valuable of the three.

Both Wilfred Ndidi and Thomas Partey have been linked with big money moves away from Leicester City and Atletcio Madrid respectively.
