William Troost-Ekong flies to Saudi Arabia to seal Al Khalood move
Super Eagles of Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong is on the brink of completing a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Khalood.
The Nigerian international, who joined PAOK in 2023, is set to leave Greece after just one season.
Troost-Ekong played a key role in PAOK’s successful campaign last year, contributing significantly to their Super League title win and maintaining six clean sheets. He was also instrumental in PAOK’s first-leg victory in their Champions League playoff against Borac.
The move to Al Khalood comes after the defender and his agent traveled to Saudi Arabia to finalize the deal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, “William Troost-Ekong and his agent David Moss are on their way to Saudi Arabia as he’s signing for Al Khalood.”
Despite his strong performance at PAOK, Troost-Ekong has decided to embark on a new challenge with Al Khalood, who recently earned promotion to the Saudi Arabian League. The club is actively seeking quality players to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
The announcement of Troost-Ekong’s transfer is expected to be made shortly, marking a new chapter in his career as he joins the newly promoted Saudi side.
