William Troost-Ekong Says Super Eagles Ready to Beat Rwanda
Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has said the team is fully ready for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday, March 21, 2025.
The three-time African champions have never won an away match against the Amavubi. But Troost-Ekong made it clear they are not worried about past results.
“We have seen people talk about it, but we are not bothered,” Troost-Ekong told thenff.com. “I played in our last game in Kigali, which ended 0-0, but we know we can’t afford to draw this time.”
“Our aim is to win and give our World Cup campaign a big boost.”
The defender also said the team is not thinking about past matches. “We are not concerned about history or what has happened before,” he added. “Qualifying for the FIFA World Cup is our main focus.”
