With these Falconets, the future of Super Falcons is secured – Coach Danjuma
Nigeria women’s U-20 coach Chris Danjuma is certain that the future of Nigeria women’s senior national team is secured.
Danjuma who watched his side dominate but lost 2-0 in their FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup quarterfinal game to the Netherlands said after the match that the future is secured.
He also pointed out that his side made mistakes and were punished.
“This is football, your opponent capitalizes on your mistakes and punishes you for that.
“I think we made two mistakes and we were punished for it – we had our chances we couldn’t take it, football is about your chances.
“It is unfortunate nobody wants to go into a game and lose we wanted to win but it didn’t happen.”
The Falconets showed class they attempted 24 shots, 11 were on target but failed to score from any while the Dutch only had 3 on target and scored 2.
Despite their poor display in front of goal, the Falconets played great and a few individuals could easily play for the Super Falcons.
“Excellent players, phenomenon,” said Danjuma when asked to describe his team.
“I think Nigeria is blessed to have this crop of players graduating into the senior team.
“I think the future of the senior team is secured.”
