Wolverhampton Wanderers Striker Tolu Arokodare Cleared to Play After Racist Attack

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has overcome the trauma of last weekend’s racist abuse and received psychological clearance from his club to feature against Aston Villa in the English Premier League.
The go-ahead came from Wolves head coach Rob Edwards, who confirmed that the former RKC Genk top scorer has also recovered from the shock of missing a first-half penalty in their 1-0 loss at Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Edwards revealed that everyone at Molineux Stadium has rallied around Arokodare during this difficult period. Both players and coaching staff offered him individual words of sympathy and collectively supported him as a team.
“He was upset and angered by it, understandably so,” Edwards said. “We have supported him, and we have had a few individual chats with him. We have spoken about it as a group to make sure we get around him and support him as well.”
The coach added that Arokodare trained fully with the team this week. Despite being heavily affected by the racist abuse, the 25-year-old striker is now ready to play in Wolves’ home game against Aston Villa on Friday.
