Women’s World Cup: Toni Payne tips Super Falcons for Final If.

Super Falcons of Nigeria attacking midfielder Toni Payne has tipped her team to reach the finals of the 2023 Women’s World Cup if they continue playing like they did in the group stage.

The PSG midfielder made this disclosure after a starring performance vs Republic of Ireland to help the Super Falcons reach the knockout round of the 2023 World Cup.

For the first time, Nigeria finished the group stage at the World Cup without defeat. The Randy Waldrum tutored ladies started off with a 0-0 draw vs Canada. Defeated Australia 3-2 before holding Ireland to a 0-0 draw to finish with five points.

Tournament co-hosts Australia topped the group while Nigeria finished as runners-up and have put the other teams on alert with their dogged performances.

Speaking with SuperSports after the game against Ireland on Monday July 31, Payne revealed the how the team can go all the way to the final.

Payne said ” If we play like how we’re playing and improve on each game, I think we can go all the way to the final.”

On qualifying from a group that had co-hosts Australia, Olympic gold medalist Canada and Ireland who despite appearing in their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup were ranked higher than the Falcon, the enterprising midfielder said;

” We knew this was going to be the group of death, we knew it was going to be hard, but we never thought it would be impossible.”

Nigeria will know their last-16 opponents today, with either England or Denmark the likely opposition as the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand continues.
