Woods quickly moves up world rankings after World Hero Challenge

Tiger Woods has climbed 248 ranking positions thanks to his performance at the Hero World Challenge.

Making his return from 15 months out with a serious back problem, Woods finished 15th out of 18 players in the Bahamas, although he did end the tournament four under par.

That effort was enough to earn the 14-time major winner a significant rankings boost.

Having started the week in 898th, Woods – who avoided any fitness worries on his return – is now ranked 650th.

During the week, Woods admitted that he was “absolutely” still chasing Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championships.

Woods, 40, also stated that he hopes to play a “full schedule” in 2017 in an attempt to return to his best form.
