Zlatan Ibrahimovic challenges Anthony Joshua to boxing match after Ngannou victory

After Anthony Joshua’s decisive victory over Francis Ngannou, former Sweden International Zlatan Ibrahimovic has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging the British boxer to a boxing match.

In a thrilling showdown on Friday night, Joshua comfortably triumphed over Cameroonian MMA fighter Ngannou, knocking him to the ground three times in just two rounds of fighting.

Cameroonian fighter Ngannou toppled to the canvas after the destructive final punch from 34-year-old Joshua, as the crowd in Riyadh's Kingdom Arena erupted. Dazed and hurt, Ngannou managed to recover and exchanged words with Joshua, as the victor urged him "not to leave" boxing despite his crushing defeat.

Following the bout, Ibrahimovic, aged 42, took to social media to issue the challenge to Joshua, posting a photo of himself alongside the British boxer with a caption that read, “Who would win? @anthonyjoshua.”

The challenge comes hot on the heels of Ngannou’s failed attempt to defeat Joshua, who emerged victorious in just six minutes of action. Ibrahimovic’s jokingly-put move suggests that he believes he could fare better against Joshua in the ring than Ngannou did.

That will not happen, instead, former world champion Anthony Joshua will push further for another World Heavyweight title shot.
