We had a poor pre-season but we’ll get better – Ikorudu FC Official

No more news that Ikorudu FC played 1-1 draw at the Onikan Stadium against Abia Warriors. The Lagos State based team were poor in the first half but came back in the 2nd half on fire and were rewarded with a goal from Agbane.

It was their first game at the highest football League in Nigeria and they would be satisfied with their display. Though, the Lagos fans seem not satisfied with the outcome of the match as they felt their club should have taken all the three points.

But, an official of the Lagos based team replied a section of the fans after the match that they were satisfied with the outcome of the match.

‘We are satisfied we didn’t lose, we are playing at this stage for the first time. If we had won it would have been an upset as we are debutant while they are one of League’s big boy, we actually had nothing to lose.’

He further talked about issues which may have hampered their performances.

‘We didn’t have a proper pre-season, we played Enyimba and one other game that was it, not good enough pre-season for this type of competition.’

‘We had issues registering some of our new signings and other management problems, but we believe everything will be fine’.

The official then assured the fans that they shouldn’t worry and that the boys would deliver the goods.

‘These players brought us here, they know what to do, once they settle into the League you will love them’ the official concluded.
