Bolton Wanderers ‘sold for £7.5m to Sport Shield Group ‘
Bolton Wanderers have reportedly been sold for £7.5m to Sport Shield Group following a dismal financial period.
The Championship club were due in the High Court on Monday over a £3m unpaid tax bill owed to the HMRC.
It is believed that Sport Shield Group, which is a consortium led by Dean Holdsworth, was recently given exclusivity to complete a takeover with the Trotters.
According to Sky Sports News, a £7.5m deal has now been struck and as a result, a winding-up order has been adjourned for 14 days.
On Friday, Bolton sold their Euxton training ground to Wigan Athletic for a reported £2.5m fee.
