Brasil Open suspended in Sao Paulo
Wednesday’s second-round action of the Brasil Open has been postponed without a match being completed.
Contests between Inigo Cervantes and Blaz Rola on centre court and Daniel Gimeno-Traver and Pablo Carreno Busta started but could not be completed before rain suspended play.
Tournament organisers waited until 21:50 local time (00:50 GMT) before calling off the day’s play.
Cervantes led Rola 7-6 (7-4) 2-1, while Carreno Busta was up against Gimeno-Traver 6-2 3-6 1-0.
Second seed and Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci was set to play Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, while fourth seed Federico Delbonis was due to take on compatriot Diego Schwartzman.
The matches will be played on Thursday.
