Curry posts 51 in Warriors win, Pelicans beat OKC despite Durant-Russell’s 76

Stephen Curry produced a record-breaking performance as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Orlando Magic 130-114.

Curry posted 51 points in the road win on Thursday and hit a three-pointer in his 128th consecutive regular-season game – the longest streak in the NBA.

The reigning MVP, who finished with 10 three-pointers, surpassed Kyle Korver’s feat of 127, which he matched only 24 hours earlier, with a first-quarter deep-range effort.

“I was laughing, sure. That really isn’t supposed to happen,” said Curry as the Warriors improved to 52-5 for the best 57-game start in league history.

“I made a bunch of threes in the third quarter and then finished with that one. It was really funny to me, it just banked off the glass.”

Evan Fournier (20 points) and Aaron Gordon (19 points) led the Magic.

The San Antonio Spurs extended their winning streak on the road to four games thanks to a 96-78 victory at the Utah Jazz.

Kawhi Leonard’s 29 points and Tim Duncan’s double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds inspired the Spurs, who hit the front in the second quarter and held the Jazz to their lowest point total of the season.

The Jazz were led by Derrick Favors, who scored 25 points.

Elsewhere, the Boston Celtics made it nine consecutive wins at home after seeing off the Milwaukee Bucks 112-107.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were upstaged by the New Orleans Pelicans 123-119, despite 44 points from Russell Westbrook and 32 from Kevin Durant.

James Harden had 46 points to help the Houston Rockets past the Portland Trail Blazers 119-105, while the Brooklyn Nets were 116-106 winners against the Phoenix Suns in a battle of the strugglers.
