Curry inspires Warriors in OT win over OKC, Spurs post 50th win

Stephen Curry nailed an unbelievable long-range three-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining to help the Golden State Warriors past the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-118 in overtime.

With the scores level at 118-apiece in Oklahoma City, fans were left in awe as reigning MVP Curry broke the deadlock from downtown at the death in the NBA on Saturday.

Curry, who finished with a game-high 46 points for his third consecutive game with 40 or more points despite missing six minutes of the third quarter due to an ankle problem, also broke his own record for three-pointers hit in a season and tied the NBA record for threes made in a game.

Having already hit his record 287th three-pointer of the season in overtime, Curry added to the total with his dramatic last-gasp attempt from beyond the arc, which was his 12th of the outing, matching the feat set by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall.

The Thunder were leading by as many as 11 points in the fourth quarter before the Warriors (53-5) rallied, going on an 18-7 run to force OT, after Andre Iguodala converted a pair of free throws with 0.7secs left in regulation.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 37 points and 12 rebounds, while Russell Westbrook – who missed a three-pointer following Curry’s heroics – finished with 26 points and 13 assists.

The San Antonio Spurs posted their 50th win of the season after downing the Houston Rockets 104-94.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge inspired the Spurs, who led by as many as 31 points, to a fifth consecutive win.

Leonard scored 27 points, while Aldridge contributed 26 points of his own and 16 rebounds.

James Harden had 27 points for the Rockets.

Also on Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers saw off the Chicago Bulls 103-95 for their 16th win in 20 games, the Brooklyn Nets trumped the Utah Jazz 98-96 and the Minnesota Timberwolves were 112-110 winners over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Boston Celtics made it 10 consecutive wins on home court via a 101-89 victory against the Miami Heat, Andre Drummond registered his 50th double-double of the season as the Detroit Pistons defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 102-91, while the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the Phoenix Suns 111-106.
