14th pick Bam Adebayo makes NBA debut in Heat loss to Magic
Bam Adebayo who was the only player of Nigerian descent selected in the first round of the 2017 NBA draft made his debut in Miami Heats 109-116 loss to Orlando Magic at the Amway Center on Wednesday.
Bam Adebayo who was selected by the three-time NBA champions with the 14th pick during the 2017 draft had a 6-minute cameo on Wednesday.
Although coach Spoelstra has hinted that the former Kentucky star could spend some time in the G League, the 20-year-old showed why he could cut it against the likes of Hammons, Hassan Whiteside, Kelly Olynyk, Udonis Haslem, James Johnson, Okaro White and Jordan Mickey in his position.
Bam Adebayo was Miami’s ninth player to enter on Wednesday at the Amway Center and he was unlucky not to make a bucket, rebounds or blocks in six minutes, all in the first half.
Hassan Whiteside dropped 26 points, 22 rebounds to record his first double-double of and set the Heat record for rebounds but it wasn’t good enough as Fournier led Magic ran away with a 116-109 victory.
