MFM FC 3 Ikorodu United 1: Sikiru Olatubosun stars as Olukoya Boys pile more misery on City rivals

Sikiru Olatunbosu scored and set up a goal as MFM FC snapped their winless run of 3 games to beat Ikorodu United 3-1 and pile more misery on their city rivals at the Agege Township Stadium.

As expected the match up brought important dignitaries within the state and beyond.

Sikiru Olatubosun put the home team ahead in 11th minutes when goalkeeper Segun Fasawe failed to clear his line following a shot by Ifeanyi Ifeanyi off a freekick.

The goalkeeper’s mistake didn’t stop the away team from pressing for the equalizer and were duly rewarded in the 20th minute as Moses Ebiye was fouled in the box by MFM’s Erhun Obanor.

The resultant penalty was converted by captain Fatai Abdullahi. It ended all square at half-time.

In the second half the home didn’t hide their intention to take the maximum points, their possesive and attacking football forced Ikorodu FC to abandone their chase for a win and went defending.

MFM pressing game paid off when Stephen Odey restored their advantage in the 69th minute with a well worked goal. Ifeanyi Ifeanyi completed the rout from the penalty spot in added time after Sikiru Olatubosun was fouled in the box.

The victory condemned Ikorodu United to the bottom of the log and propelled MFM FC to 9th on the log.
