Arsene Wenger: ‘Arsenal played a very good first half, lack of experience cost us against Liverpool
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side’s lack of experience cost them a result against Liverpool.
The Gunners had led through Theo Walcott‘s first-half strike, but goals fromAdam Lallana, Sadio Mane and a brace from Philippe Coutinho saw the Reds edge to a 4-3 win in their opening Premier League game.
However, Wenger has insisted he will only delve into the transfer market if he can secure a player of quality for his team.
“After that we paid for a lack of experience. I have said many times we are working very hard to get one or two players in. I don’t know what you call desperate. They [any signings Arsenal make before the transfer window closes] need to make sense and be of quality.”
Arsenal travel to face champions Leicester City next weekend.
