2006 Nigeria Premier League Winning Coach Maurice Cooreman reported Dead.

Maurice Cooreman the Belgian manager who led Ocean Boys Fc to the Nigerian Premier League title in 2006 is reported dead in his native country.

 

Born in 1943 and Married to a Nigerian woman , the Belgian manager enjoyed many fruitful years managing in Nigeria plus a year in Ghana as manager of Asante Kotoko (2008-2009.).

 

Cooreman’s last club in Nigeria was Ikorodu United in 2017 . The Belgian is celebrated in the Nigerian football community for the 2006 league title with Ocean Boys, federation cup title win with Kaduna United (2010) and guiding Ikorodu United to promotion to the NPFL (2016).

Other clubs managed by Maurice Cooreman in Nigeria are Bendel Insurance, NPA, Lobi Stars , Warri Wolves and Akwa United Football Club of Uyo. He was blessed with three children . His sons Davy and Steve are professional footballers in Belgium.
