Klose scored 16 goals to lead a list that includes the likes of Gerd Muller (14) , Jurgen Klinnsman (11) and many others.

A 2018 TOURNAMENT TO FORGET

The European giants arrived for the 2018 FIFA World Cup as Champions and we’re tipped as one of the favourites for the crown.

Joachim Lows men lost 0-1 to Germany in the opening group game, secured a 2-1 victory over Sweden that would be undone by a 0-2 loss to South Korea in the final group game.

CURRENT MANAGER

2022 FIFA WORLD CUP PERMUTATIONS

Germany will enter the 2022 World Cup seeking to make amends for underwhelming performances at the 2018 World Cup and 2020 European Championships.

Manager Hansi Flick will hope to master mind a deep run at his first major tournament in charge of the national team.

On how far they can go in Qatar, Legendary German Midfielder Bastian Schwienstiger is not convinced the current crop of players can go all the way to emerge Champions in Qatar.

His doubts notwithstanding, Germany will always have a mention as one of the favourites for every World Cup Finals. Qatar 2022 will not be an exception.

THE SQUAD

If fit, Bayern Munich goalkepeer Manuel Neuer will lead the German squad to Qatar.

In Neuer’s position, Barcelona shot-stopper Andre Ter Stegen is a formidable option as well as Bernd Leno, Kevin Trap and Olivier Bachmann .

In defence, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudigier would headline invited players for his position.

The likes of Matt Hummels, David Raum, Mathias Hinter, Mathias Sule, Jonathan Tah, Thirlo Kerher and a host of others are options available for Hansi Flick’s selection.

Germany is blessed with a lot of options in Midfield but Joshua Kimmich, IIkay Gundogan, Leon Goretzka, Julian Brandt and Jamal Masiala are some keys names expected on Germany’s flight to Qatar.

In attack, Liepzig forward Timo Werner is ruled out of the tournament with injury while Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has a muscular problem that could cut his Qatar 2022 World Cup hopes.

Hansi Flick will rely on the likes of Marco Reus, Kai Havertz, and Serge Gnabry to fire his side past the challenge from Japan, Spain and Costa Rica in Group E at the World Cup.
