2022 WC: Senegal get England challenge, Netherlands to face USA in the Round of 16
African Champions, Senegal secured a place in the last-16 of the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday afternoon and will have England as opponents in the last-16.
Both teams, were victorious in their respective final group games on Tuesday November 29.
Senegal defeated Ecuador 2-1 to send the South Americans parking from Qatar. The win placed Senegal in second place with six points, one behind Group A leaders Netherland.
For England, a commanding 3-0 win of Wales courtesy of a Marcus Rashford brace and Phil Foden strike to finish top of Group B.
Netherlands claimed Group A top spot with a 2-0 win over Qatar.
The Dutch will face USA in the other confirmed round of 16 game, the Americans secured a hard fought 1-0 win over Iran to reach the knockout round.
Christian Pulisic with the goal in the first half of the keenly contested showdown to finish as Group B runners up with 5 points.
With the completion of Group And B games today, attention will shift to Group C and D for Wednesday November 30.
