2023/2024 Saudi Arabia Pro League top-scorers chart after Week-16

The race for who finishes top-scorer in the Saudi Arabia Pro League promises to be keen due to the influx of European stars. SportsRation presents the chart after week-16.

CRISTIANO RONALDO [ AL NASSR – 16 ]

The trialblazer of the Europe-saudi migration, Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading goalscorer in the Saudi Arabia Pro League after scoring 16-goals in the 16-weeks old 2023/2024 season.

Al Nassr sit in second place with their Portuguese superstar flourishing in front of goal as he pushes for his first Saudi Pro League top-scorer award.

Last season, Ronaldo scored 14-times in the half-season he played.

ALEXANDER MITROVIC [ AL HILAL – 14 ]

Former Fulham FC striker, Alexander Mitrovic is enjoying a stellar start to life in the middle east.

Mitrovic has scored 14-goals to sit in second place on the top-scorers chart in Saudi’s Pro League after week-16.

Al Hilal are cruising at the top of the league standin with 44 points, seven more than 2nd placed Al Nassr, thanks to Mitrovic’s goals.

The Serbian forward has an intimidating frame that has helped bully defenders.

GEORGES KEVIN N’KOUDOU [ DAMAC – 13 ]

The 28-year-old winger joined Damac in the summer and is already making big impact in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Besiktas man has scored 13 goals already this season to help Damac to sixth spot after 16 games.

ANDERSON TALISCA [ AL NASSR – 10]

Talisca may have lost the spotlight at Al Nassr to Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, but he remains consistent with his goal return for the Kings.

Since his move from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande back in 2021, Talisca has scored 20 goals in back-to-back seasons and his on course for another having scored 10 times after 16 weeks of action.

KARIM BENZEMA [ AL ITTIHAD – 9 ]

Karim Benzema’s maiden season at Al Ittihad has been blighted by injury. However, the Frenchman has already scored nine times in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

Benzema ended his 14-year stay at Real Madrid to take the new challenge in the middle east. He is the one man tipped to challenge Cristiano Ronaldo for the tops-scorer award if he stays fit.

BERNARD MENSAH [ AL TAI – 9 ] 

Al Tai resisted the temptation to spend big last summer but managed to sign a certain Bernard Mensah as free agent.

Sixteen weeks into the season, Mensah has proven to be a massive addition, the attacking midfielder has been a superb addition so far, and has been a regular contributor of goals and assists .

He has now bagged nine, same as superstar Karim Benzema.

MALCOM [ AL HILAL – 9 ] 

Brazillian forward Malcom has excelled in the colours of Al Hilal who spent big in the transfer market and are currently reaping the reward as the leagues table-topper.

Malcom led the goalscorers chart early in the season but has seen his goal return dwarfed by other forwards in the league.

He has nine goals to his name.

ODION IGHALO [ AL WEDHA – 8 ] 

Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo has played in the Saudi Arabia since February 2021 when he joined Al Shabab.

Since then, Ighalo has been a consistent feature on the goalscorers chart, banging 52 goals in 71 games in the Saudi Pro League for both Al-Shabab and Al-Hilal.

After leaving Al Hilal at the end of the 2022/2023, Ighalo joined Al Wedha and has continued his good run with eight goals to his name so far this season.

MOUSSA DEMBELE [ AL ETTIFAQ – 7 ] 

Steven Gerrard tutored Al Ettifaq signed 27-year-old French striker Moussa Dembele on a free transfer from Lyon last summer.

Dembele already has a proven track-record for being prolific goal-scorer in both Ligue 1 and Scottish SPFL and so it is no surprise that he is on the Saudi Arabia Pro League top-scorers chart.

Moussa Dembele has scored seven times in the league this season.

MOURAD BETNA [ AL FATEH – 7 ] 

33-year old Al Fateh forward, Mourad Betna completes the top-ten goalscorers in the 2023/2024 Saudi Arabia Pro League after week sixteen with his seven goals.

Last year, the veteran forward scored ten goals and is oncourse to clip that figure as he competes with the europe imports for the Kingdom’s top goalscorer award.
