Novak Djokovic eased past Andrey Rublev in straight sets to qualify for the 2023 Australian Open semifinals. In the day’s second quarterfinal, Ben Shelton bowed to Tommy Paul in their all-American tie at the Rod Laver Arena. Paul reached his first-ever Grand Slam semifinal with a 7-6 6-3 5-7 6-4 win over Shelton, booking a semifinal match with Novak Djokovic.
Magda Linette reached her first Grand Slam semifinal following a shock win over 30th seed Karolina Pliskova at the Rod Laver Arena. The unseeded Pole won the match in straight sets 6-3 7-5 to progress to the last four, where she will face Aryna Sabalenka.
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Donna Vekic in straight sets to reach the semifinals of the 2023 Australian Open. The fifth seed remains the highest ranking player left in Melbourne and reached her first semifinal in the tournament with a 6-3 6-2 win over Vekic.
