2023 French Open Day 7: Zverev, Gauff, Swiatek through to Round 4

Jabeur, Ruud, Rune, Dimitrov also through to fourth round

Alexander Zverev continued his progress in the 2023 French Open as he picked up a win over Frances Tiafoe in the third round to book his passage into the last 16 of the tournament. The 22nd seed came from a set down to win the match in four sets, claiming a 3-6 7-6 6-1 7-6 win over his American opponent.

Fourth seed Casper Ruud came from a set down to defeat China’s Zhang Zhizhen in their third round meeting at Roland Garros. The Norwegian star claimed a 4-6 6-4 6-1 6-4 win to progress to the fourth round.

Sixth seed Holger Rune overcame Genaro Alberto Olivieri in straight sets to book his place in the fourth round of the 2023 French Open. Rune won the match 6-4 6-1 6-3 to book his passage into the last 16.

Grigor Dimitrov eased past Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in straight sets to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament in style. The Bulgarian 28th seed claimed a 6-4 6-3 6-1 win over his opponent to qualify.

Francisco Cerundolo recovered from a set down to defeat ninth seed Taylor Fritz and reach the Fourth Round in Roland Garros. The Argentine star picked up a 3-6 6-3 6-4 7-5 win to progress past the third round.

In the women’s draw, World number one Iga Swiatek continued to progress in the tournament, booking her fourth round ticket with a straight sets win over Wang Xinyu. The Pole won the match 6-0 6-0 in ruthless fashion to reach the last 16.

Coco Gauff survived a scare to reach the last 16 of the 2023 French Open as she came from a set down to win against Mirra Andreeva. The American star won the match 6-7 6-1 6-1 to qualify for the fourth round.

Ons Jabeur booked her passage into the fourth round with a win over Olga Danilovic in three sets after overcoming a set deficit in the clash. The Tunisian star won the match 4-6 6-4 6-2 to reach the last 16 in Roland Garros.

Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko overcame Bianca Andreescu in straight sets to qualify for the fourth round of the 2023 French Open. The unseeded Ukrainian won the game 6-1 6-1 to progress.

Fourth seed Elena Rybakina crashed out after a walkover against Sara Sorribes Tormo. Rybakina cited a respiratory illness and fever as her reason for not being able to compete in the match.
