Jokic, Murray make NBA history
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray made history for the Denver Nuggets as they claimed an impressive 109-94 win over the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami.
After losing Game 2 in front of their fans, the Nuggets were keen to return the favour as they made their way to the FTX Arena for the third game of the series, and the duo of Jokic and Murray made it memorable. The Nuggets duo became the first pair of teammates in NBA history to each record a 30-point triple-double in the same game.
Both teams were evenly matched from tip-off and the first quarter ended in a tie before the Nuggets began to pull away from the second quarter and the Western Conference champions maintained their lead until the end of the game.
Jokic finished the game with 32 points, 21 rebounds and ten assists to become the first player in NBA history to have a 30-20-10 game in the Finals. Murray added 34 points, ten rebounds and ten assists, and Aaron Gordon scored 11 points and ten rebounds.
Jimmy Butler scored 28 points for the Heat and Bam Adebayo scored 22 points and 17 rebounds in the game. The series returns with Game 4 in Miami on Saturday with the Nuggets two wins away from history.
