2023 US Open Day Five: Djokovic, Swiatek, Gauff all through to R4

World number two Novak Djokovic delivered a thrilling match against Laszlo Djere in their 2023 US Open third round clash, recovering from two sets down to defeat the 32nd seeded Serbian. The Grand Slam record holder secured a 4-6 4-6 6-1 6-1 6-3 win over his compatriot to qualify for the fourth round.
Ninth seed Taylor Fritz defeated Jakub Mensik in straight sets to qualify for the fourth round in Flushing Meadows. The American star claimed a 6-1 6-2 6-0 win as he made light work of Mensik.
Tenth seed Frances Tiafoe recovered from a set down to defeat Adrian Mannarino in four sets and reach the fourth round of the 2023 US Open. The American recorded a 4-6 6-1 6-3 7-6 win in the third round encounter to progress in the competition.
14th seed Tommy Paul overcame Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in four sets to reach the fourth round of the competition in Flushing Meadows. Paul recorded a 6-1 6-0 3-6 6-3 win to progress from the third round.
Ben Shelton defeated Aslan Karatsev to progress from the third round in Flushing Meadows. The American claimed a 6-4 3-6 6-2 6-0 win over Karatsev to qualify for Round Four of the tournament.
Reigning champion Iga Swiatek booked her place in the fourth round of the 2023 US Open with a straight sets win over Kaja Juvan in their third round clash. The world number one picked up a 6-0 6-1 win to progress to the next stage.
Sixth seed Coco Gauff qualified for the fourth round in Flushing Meadows after a comeback win over Belgian star Elise Mertens. Gauff recovered from a set down to claim a 3-6 6-3 6-0 win and advance to the fourth round.
Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki was once again impressive as she came from a set down to defeat Jennifer Brady and book her place in the fourth round of the competition. The Danish mother of two recorded a 4-6 6-3 6-1 win over Brady to progress from the third round clash.
Tenth seed Karolina Muchova defeated unseeded American Taylor Townsend in straight sets to reach the fourth round of the 2023 US Open. The Czech star recorded a 7-6 6-3 triumph over her opponent in the third round.
Fourth seed Elena Rybakina was stunned by Romanian star Sorana Cirstea and was sent crashing out of the 2023 US Open. The 30th seed claimed a 6-3 6-7 6-4 win over Rybakina, who fought hard but was unable to avoid a defeat.
