2024 Olympics: D’Tigress set to face USA in qualifying event

Reigning African champions D’Tigress have learned their opponents in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying event for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The three-day mini-tournament is set to take place between February 8th and 11th in Antwerp, Belgium, where Nigeria’s group has been placed.

D’Tigress will face global powerhouse and World champions USA in the group, as well as fellow West African nation Senegal and hosts Belgium.

With the USA assured of qualification for the event by virtue of being world champions, there are two more slots to be filled by teams in the group. The D’Tigress know that they need to win just one game to stand a chance of reaching the Olympic Games in Paris.

Coach Rena Wakama and her AfroBasket winners will fancy their chances of picking up a ticket for the Games in February.
