Ahmed Musa may have ended on the losing side but he will be pleased with his performance on the night. Musa assisted Okazaki’s first goal and was a thorn on Chelsea’s defence all through the time he spent on the pitch before he was substituted for Jamie Vardy. He could have given his team the lead few minutes before his withdrawal but an excellent save from Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Begovic denied him.

Hope Akpan was on the pitch for the entire match as his team got eliminated from the league cup by Leeds United. The towering midfielder who has been in fine form since he joined Rovers from Reading couldn’t prevent his team from defeat.

FRANCE

Lille

Vincent Enyeama couldn’t save his club from going down 2-1 at home to Toulouse in their Ligue 1 midweek clash. Lille has lost their last 3 games and Vincent has conceded 8 goals in 5 games keeping clean sheet in only one of their five Ligue 1 games.

HOLLAND

MVV Maastricht

Kelechi Nwakali scored from the spot but he couldn’t save his club from getting kicked out of the Netherlands – KNVB Beker by Volendam. After 120 minutes of action the clubs went into penalty, and Arsenal loanee converted his clubs first penalty but Loshaj missed the last penalty to hand Volendam the victory.
