Record-breaker Curry leads Warriors past Pelicans, Red-hot Harden stars

The Golden State Warriors returned to winning ways in the NBA as James Harden’s incredible start to the season continued.

Coming off a shock loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors responded with a 116-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.

Harden starred for the Houston Rockets, who rallied past the Washington Wizards 114-106.

There were also comfortable wins for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers.

SCINTILLATING STEPH

Stephen Curry broke the record for most three-pointers in a single game with 13 in his 46-point haul.

Curry went 13-of-17 from three-point range in an incredible shooting performance.

Klay Thompson (24 points) and Kevin Durant (22) were also good contributors for the Warriors.

RED-HOT HARDEN

Harden had 32 points, 15 assists and six rebounds in the Rockets’ win over the Wizards.

He has now recorded at least 30 points and 10 assists in four straight games this season, becoming the first NBA player to do so since Michael Jordan in 1988-89.

Ryan Anderson (23 points), Trevor Ariza (15) and Clint Capela (14) provided the scoring support.

THUNDER, CLIPPERS STAY HOT

The Thunder and Clippers both improved to 6-1.

Enes Kanter had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Thunder’s 97-85 win over the Miami Heat.

Chris Paul (24 points, eight assists and six rebounds) saw the Clippers past the Detroit Pistons 114-82.

INCREDIBLE CURRY

PHILADELPHIA STILL WINLESS

The Utah Jazz kept the Philadelphia 76ers winless with a 109-84 victory, the Charlotte Hornets beat the Indiana Pacers 122-100 and the Chicago Bulls eased past the Orlando Magic 112-80.

HAWKS AT CAVS

Dwight Howard looks like a man reborn in Atlanta, and combined with Paul Millsap, the Hawks could have an advantage in the paint against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
