Nasarawa United trash newly promoted Remo United in Lafia

Nasarawa United trashed newly promoted Ikorodu United 3-1 at the Lafia Township Stadium on Wednesday evening to get their first three points of the season.

It was Kabiru Dogo’s men first win and it was vital, as they needed to build their confidence as the season rolls on.

They wasted no time getting on the scoresheet as talented midfielder, Abdul Rahman Bashir scored in the 11th minute to give the hosts the lead.

But it later looked like they were going to play out another draw as Remo stars got the equalizer in the 62nd-minute courtesy Abiodun Awoyemi.

Nasarawa United wasted no time to regain the lead as Douglas Achiv struck in the 70th minutes and the win was capped up with a 90th Minute Penalty from Emmanuel Makama to seal all three points for the Lafia based team.

The win would be so pleasing to Coach Kanu Dogo but heart-breaking for Coach Nduka Ugbade, who needs to act fast before his team gets into trouble of battling to remain in the topflight.

For Kabiru Dogo, confidence acquired going into Sunday’s game against Enyimba FC. Nduka Ugbade would go and make his corrections and try all possible best to get all three points at home against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday

Nasarawa United are now 12th on the log with 5 points while Remo are 19th with 3 points from four games.
