NHF postpones league 1 championship by a week

The Nigeria Hockey Federation has moved the Nigeria Hockey League 1 Championship billed to start on the 8th of May in Ibadan by a week.

Professor Ediga Agbo who is the Nigeria Hockey Federation Technical director told Sportlineng.com that the competition has been moved by a week and the new dates for the event will be announced very soon.

The championship serves as a qualifier for teams who want to play in the Super League. Teams who got eliminated from the previous super league and teams who are in the league 1 fight for the right to play in the super league the year after.

All eyes will be on Rivers whose male and female teams won in both categories at the 2016 Nigeria Hockey League 1 Championship held in Portharcourt.
